Qigong Practice

Qigong techniques have been practiced in China over the last 3,000 years, are designed to help students: + Identify and open the main pathways for life energy or “chi” in their body (also used in acupuncture) + Draw chi from the environment and concentrate it in their energy centers or chakras, and + Manipulate the chi for health and healing purposes. A regular practice in qi gong can help balance and strengthen the body’s life energy and maintain health, vitality, and peace of mind. Qi gong and related practices in yoga, tai chi and kung fu complement each other in their focus on breathing, body awareness, concentration and connection.

Barre

Barre is a fun, full-body workout class done to upbeat music and combines elements of Ballet, Pilates, and Yoga. You will improve your cardio, strength, and flexibility in a low-impact, high-intensity manner through controlled movement, always focusing on alignment and posture. Most exercises will be done standing at the "barre" (or back of a chair) using your own body weight for resistance. At times, small props will be incorporated such as small weights and Therabands to increase resistance and intensity. This is your chance to achieve that strong, long, and lean body that dancers are so well-known for!

Mat Pilates

This will be a traditional Pilates mat class incorporating exercises that are designed to align, lengthen, and strengthen your body. Focus will be placed on movements originating from your core, the deepest layers of muscles that support your spine and pelvis and improve posture and control. You will use your own body weight and sometimes small props to create resistance and to increase flexibility. The goal is always for your body to feel better, more energized, and more toned at the end of the class.

Yin Yoga & Ball Therapy

Traditional yin yoga poses held for 3-5 minutes in a passive technique to stimulate joint and connective tissues of the body and promote deep relaxation of mind-body. Relaxing in some ways - stimulating in others. A great whole body stretch w/ stress releasing muscle targets ball therapy work. Inspirational readings, suggested essential oils and balm and TLC. You will feel great from the work of this gentle class. All levels.
